Beautiful Finishes and Textures

Barry began his studies at The University of Texas at Austin, then finished his degree at North Texas State University. He studied under such artists as Harlan Butt and Thelma Coles. He has shown his work across the United States and won awards at various arts and crafts shows. His study in anthropology has influenced him throughout the years. His art has gone through several phases, from an African style - with horse hair incorporated into his jewelry - to the more recent work, which has an Asian influence. He says he likes to think of his work as a mixture of cultures, in a contemporary style. Born in Austin, TX, Barry currently resides in Elgin, TX. He serves the City of Elgin on the Main Street Board and the Artist Guild. BFA 1985 University of North Texas
