The Mark of the Maker - Hammer Making Workshop - Beginners Welcome with Jesse Bert

Thursday- Sunday, February 8-11, 10-6p

“For some of us hammers are the heart of the functional and practical side of our making process. It’s a wonderful feeling of excitement to use a beautiful hammer you made leaving gorgeous marks, or completing that special process that brings each unique piece to life.” - Jesse Bert

Join Jesse Bert at our Creative Side Metal Works location for this 4 day Hammer Making Workshop! Students will learn how to design and create a unique hammer of their choice, from grinding and polishing the head, to drifting the hole for the hickory handle. Students will come away with the knowledge of start-to-finish hammer construction by grinding, sanding, and filing steel to achieve a beautiful shape and finish, as well as basic woodworking skills.
