Introduction to Jewelry Making with Ashleigh Holeman

Wednesdays, 5/9-5/30, 5:30pm-8:30pm (4 sessions)

Beginner’s, this one’s for you! Get to know the jeweler’s studio, tools and equipment. Discuss ways to setup your home studio and gain dexterity using tools such as the jeweler’s saw, files, hammers, pliers and flex shaft. Experiment with drilling, shaping and creating unique finishes to your work and familiarize yourself with the torch. Discuss materials, metal properties and the many techniques of jewelry making and discover which technique is right for the effect you want to produce.
