“I am infinite, constantly changing, peeling the layers off and digging deep inside of myself to see and feel my strengths and weaknesses.”
Enchanted by things of fire and light for more than 18 years, Sage has traveled the world to inspire while releasing the burning embers of her spirit through unique fire/light dance, music and performance.
Sage continually pushes the boundaries of fire dance, flow arts, light spinning, teaching and performance with innovative tools, costumes, characters, Shamanic influences and by studying different dance and martial arts forms. She is the founder, artistic director and main choreographer of long standing Austin, TX performance art troupe, Sangre Del Sol, as well as one of the main dancers and choreographers in the fire troop Solar Rain.
Her other talents include Herbology, Massage Therapy and Silversmithing. She has 10 years of studying and making jewelry with many different teachers and loves working with metal and stones. Some of the techniques she has studied include Stone Setting, Soldering, Fabrication, Riveting, Casting, Enameling and Precious Metal Clay.
Realizing that working with these elements is a therapy of sorts allows her to help people rekindle their creative fire and inner beauty. She has been working with Creative Side Jewelry Academy in Austin, Texas since its inception as a helper and teacher. She sells her jewelry and art in different galleries in Texas.
Art was a calling from when I was a kid. This was my path from day one of coming into this world. It is my therapy and is my way of expressing my multitude of emotions. It helps me shape shift to whatever I want to be or express so I have a multitude of variety in my life. I can feel like many people instead of just one person.
Some of my work has deeper meaning, especially when I work with stones. I use them to manifest healing or different aspects of themselves someone may need. I do not have a favorite piece of jewelry that I have made. There are definitely some I like better than others and it usually has to do with the pieces creating themselves. Where mistakes happen that aren’t really mistakes and take you in a different direction than you had planned.
